  • Biscuit

Biscuit just had his birthday on the 2nd!!  Now he is two years old.  It snowed a lot on his birthday, and he likes snow, but the snow made his agility class get cancelled.  This (the picture below) isn't at his agility class - it's in our back yard - but this is a picture of Biscuit jumping through a hoop:

  • Sledding

Yesterday Mama took Amy, Walter, and I sledding.  The day before yesterday we went sledding, too, but we didn't take pictures then.  We went to a park fairly close by, because it has a great hill.

This is a picture of me sledding:

I must have gotten turned around in this one.  Anyway, you can see Amy and Walter at the top of the hill.  Below is a picture of Amy sledding:

You can see me and Walter at the top.  I don't think there is a picture of Walter sledding, but here is a video of him sledding:

Here's a video of Amy sledding:

This is the view from the top of the hill (facing the other way):

There were lots of Canadian geese, so here is a picture of them (they're in the top right):

At the end, the sled broke.  We've had it for a really long time, though (we had it when we lived here before).  And we probably won't be needing another sled for a while, since we're moving to San Diego.

  • The Sparks-a-rama

Sorry I haven't written for so long!  I'll try to write more from now on.

On Saturday, Walter had his Sparks-a-rama.  It is where Sparks (Walter's age group in AWANA) from other churches go and play the Sparks games against each other.  Here are some of the games:

    This (below) is the Sparky-crawl:

    100_0038(1)

What the kids in Sparky-crawl have to do is crawl across the game circle, then one kid has to run in and grab the pin (1st place) or beanbag (2nd).  Below is a video of Spark-crawl, with Walter the one going in to grab the pin:

Another game they play is the Sparky-train.  I don't think they got a place in it, but here's a video of it:

Below are some pictures of another game called Sparky-safari.  They have to run around the circle with a beanbag on their head.  Once they've been around, they hand the beanbag to the next person, then that person runs around and hands the beanbag to the last person.  After the last person has run around, they drop the beanbag, and run it to get the pin.

Here is a video of a game called Balloon Battles.  What the kids have to do is keep the balloons out of their section:

This is a game called Rabbit Hunt.  Teams go in one by one, while the other teams throw balls at them.  They have to try to dodge the balls.

The last game is Sparky-balloon pop.  The kids have to pass a balloon under their legs, and the last person has to pop it by sitting on it.

I'll try to write again tomorrow.  ~Carrie

  • Happy New Years!  We went to Grandma and Granddaddy's house for New Years.  John and Mary were there (and Andrew, David, and Jenny).  It was really fun.  I went on a couple walks, and went to the little playground by the lake a couple times.  We also went to the big playground once.  We brought Biscuit.  He liked it there a lot, because every time he went out, someone had to go with him, because they don't have a fence.  He also liked it because Rusty was there.  On New Years Eve, we watched Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and AnniePrince Caspian was pretty good.  Amy loved Annie.  I thought it was pretty good - I did like the songs a lot, but it definitely wasn't my favorite.  Well, I better go now.

  • Hi!  Sarah and Dustin (Sarah's boyfriend) came here on the 17th.  Dustin left on the next Sunday, but Sarah stayed until today.  While they were here, we went to D.C twice.  One of my favorite things that we went to was the Spy Museum.  It was really cool.  Sarah, Dustin, and I did this "Operation Spy" thing.  It was like us pretending to be spys and figuring things out in the scenario they gave us.  It was really fun and realistic.  We were given a scenario and then we ("we" meaning Sarah, Dustin, me, and two other people who were doing it) had to do all this "spy" stuff.  It was pretty cool.  The rest of the museum was very interesting, too.  After the Spy Museum, we went to the National Building Museum.  It was very beautiful when you first went in, but it didn't have much to it.  After the Spy Museum, it wasn't that great.  It had a pretty cool model of the World Trade Center, though.  Supposedly, it's the only existing model of it.  Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to take a picture of it.100_0038 This is the Building Museum.  Below is the arch that Walter and I (with the help of Mama) built.

The next night we went to the National Christmas tree and all the state trees, the National Nativity, and the US Navy Band Holiday concert.  It was really good!

    Merry Christmas!!

I hope you had a great Christmas!  We sure did!  Below is a picture of all of us.

    ...And a Happy New Year!!

Today Amy, Sarah, Walter, and my dad left for NC to my dad's parent's house.  Amy is driving part of the way!  They will spend the night there and leave for SC (my mom's parent's house) tomorrow.  My mom and I will go straight to SC tomorrow with Biscuit.  We'll stay there about a week.

  • Wow, this is weird - I am so out of practice with xanga!  Laurie here, actually writing again on my own site.    I really just wanted to quickly put up a picture before I go to bed.  We had a nice snow this evening which looks lovely with my Christmas lights.  I got those finished yesterday.  The picture is kind of dark & doesn't show the snow that well, but I thought I'd put it anyway.  Other than that, if I even tried to update, it would need a book.  I do think I will attempt to get a Christmas letter-style update on here sometime during the Christmas season.  We have so much to tell!  But things sure are busy...  Anyway, here's the picture, and good night!
